Being a mom of asthmatic kid & being asthmatic myself when i was a kid , I get shivers when I read or hear about any news like Akriti's.
I wonder , why she didn't have any inhalers with her if she was asthmatic? why didn't the parents send proper medications if she had such a bad condition?
why didn't the school have some inhalers , asthma is common in kids now & schools should have some medicines in first aid kit.
why wasn't she taken to hospital immediately, why didn't the parents reach school as soon as she called?
A class 12 student should have been educated about her condition , she should have known what to do at situation like this. Her doctor must have educated her about her condition , prevention of attacks & medication during attacks.
There is no point in blaming each other, its combined fault of parents, school, her doctor & herself
Asthma is not life threatening, if proper care is taken to prevent attack & if proper treatment is given at proper time in case of attack.
When i was young(25-30 years back), there was no proper medicines, proper guidance, proper knowledge of this disease. So , I had to suffer a lot, in turn my mom had to also, seeing my condition. But medical science has advanced so much now
I feel sorry & bad hearing about asthma related deaths even in this era and feel proud about my son's doctor - Dr.Meenakshi Krishnan in chennai.

Holidays
Looking at Samanyu at home during this Easter holidays, I was wondering - did I spend any holidays at home? did my mom also worry about how to keep me occupied during holidays?
I don't remember my holidays when I was 5 but definitely , I am sure I didn't spend them full time at home. New generation kids are missing so much - or is it my imagination ? are they enjoying it in their own way?
